Being a foster is a wonderful way to enjoy the love and attention of a cat or kitten without making a permanent commitment. Fostering is temporarily opening your home to a cat or kitten while a permanent place for him or her is found. 

Please complete the application below to be considered. Being a foster parent is rewarding and easy!

 

All new Shreveport Bossier Animal Rescue foster parents must complete the following: 

  • Complete, sign and return the Foster Application and Contract.

  • If you are interested in fostering neonates (bottle-fed kittens), additional training is required. Please contact us for more information.

  • Host a home visit from one of our Foster Coordinators.


Foster Parents are expected to:

  • Provide a safe and loving indoor home for the cat(s)/kittens(s) until adopted.

  • Supply fresh litter, food, water, and grooming.

  • Give your foster cat affection, play time, and attention.

  • Ensure that your cat attends adoption events regularly (if discussed) for exposure to potential adopters.

  • Take foster cat to veterinary appointments. (Shreveport Bossier Animal Rescue pays veterinary bills only with our approved vets).
